Bessie Leety Grainger Holt: Green Sea

1951 – 2023

     Bessie Leety Grainger Holt of Green Sea died Tuesday, Nov. 28, in McLeod Loris hospital, Loris. She was 72.

     Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Oscar Grainger and Leety Strickland Grainger.

     She is survived by one daughter, Crystal Blanchard Hill and husband Greg of Green Sea; two sons, Joey Blanchard and wife Noela of Loris and Richard Barnett of Virginia; ten grandchildren, Madelyn Blanchard, Hailey Blanchard, Joseph Blanchard, Eden Blanchard, Summer Blair husband Noah, Landon Hill, Preston Hill, Michael Marcum, Jonathan Marcum wife Anna, Joanna Arisa and husband Oscar; and two great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Blanchard; one daughter, Tammy Marcum; a brother, Truman Grainger; and one sister, Ira Belle Cribb.

     Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Buck Creek Cemetery, Longs.
