Linda Faye Cox Cook: Loris

1947 – 2024

     Linda Faye Cox Cook of Loris passed away on Monday, Jan. 22. She was 76.

     Born Nov. 20, 1947 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Jackson “L.J.” Cox and the late Dalma Cox.

     Mrs. Cook worked with Horry County Schools for 37 years at Loris Elementary and Daisy Elementary, and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Vernon Cook; her daughter, Dana Faircloth (Chris); adopted daughter Emilee Cook; four grandchildren, Hannah Lewis, Kierstin Cribb, Courtney Cook, and Courtney Stevens; nine great-grandchildren, Ethan Cook, Kaylee Faircloth, Karson Lewis, Kaydyn Lewis, Sophia Brown, Princeston Cook, Zaccheaus Cook, Brooklynn Benson, and Elizabeth Cribb; and sister-in-law Evelyn Cox.

     In addition to her parents Mrs. Cook was predeceased by her son, Lloyd Darren Cook; two granddaughters, Brooke LeAnne Cook and Alexis Nicole Cook; six siblings, Billy Cox, Buddy Cox, William “Pink” King Cox, Dearl Defay Cox, Lewis Wayne Cox, and Melinda Cox Robinson; and sister-in-law Ann Cox.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Bell and Pastor Jimmy Floyd officiating, committal services following at Twin City Memorial Gardens.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, and again during the hour preceding services, at Hardwick Funeral Home.
