Lena Blanton Stanley: Tabor City

1930 – 2024

     Lena Blanton Stanley of Tabor City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 26. She was 93.

     Mrs. Stanley was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Coy and Maggie Bellamy Blanton.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Richard “Dick” Stanley, who passed in May of 2005; a son, Ralph Stanley; one brother; and four sisters.

     Surviving are her three sons, Eddie Stanley, Stephen Stanley, and Scott Stanley; a daughter, Wanda Thompson; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services were planned for 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, at Olyphic Baptist Church, burial following in the church cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends at the church immediately following services, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Wanda Thompson.
