Richard Earl Wilder: Loris

1954 – 2024

     Richard Earl Wilder of Loris, aka “Richie”, passed away on April 17, at McLeod Seacoast. He was 70.

     Born Jan. 6, 1954, in Clarendon, he was the son of the late Mitch Wilder and the late Ella Louise Ludd.

     Mr. Wilder served his country with courage, honor, and distinction for six years in the United Stated Army. After his military service, he worked as a chef for a nursing home in New York, New York, for 33 years, until his retirement. In his personal life, he had a passion for cooking and sports.

     Survivors include his wife, Denise Wilder; his children, Tausha, Anika, Forcanotta, and Jonathan; his grandchildren, Damien Jr., Nydia, TJ, Xyon, Liam, Cha, and Maquail; greatgrandchildren Dexter, Heaven, Marie, Carter, and Tripp; a sister, Elaine; a brother, Leroy; special niece Patricia; and many more loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilder was predeceased by his brother, Wayne.

     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Heavenly Hills Cemetery with Pastor Tony Vereen officiating.
