Grace Alma Tyler: Loris
1918 – 2024
Grace Alma Tyler of Loris passed away on Sunday, April 28. She was 105.
Born May 10, 1918 in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Henry John Tyler and the late Mary Agnes Roberts Tyler.
Ms. Tyler was a farmer and a lifelong member of Cane Branch Baptist Church. She will be remembered most as a loving and devoted sister, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, and friend to all who were blessed to have known her.
Survivors include her sister, Zelda Cline of Loris; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Tyler and Dalma Ree Braswell; and four generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Tyler was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters, Troy Tyler, Cleveland Tyler, Arthur Tyler, Edward Tyler, Hubert Tyler, Emerson Tyler, John Davis Tyler, James Tyler, Carl Tyler, Lena Tyler, Bertha Suggs, Agnes Bland, Lovenia Fowler, Dorothy Tyler, and Cecil Godwin; an adopted sister, Edith Bailey Zultanky; and her step-mother, Mary Stevens Tyler.
Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Hardwick Funeral Home; and again from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Cane Branch Baptist Church.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Cane Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Caines, Rev. Jon Johnson and Rev. Ross Altman officiating, committal services following at Cane Branch Cemetery.
