Betty Jo Gore Gurganus: Clarendon

2934 – 2024

     Betty Jo Gore Gurganus of Clarendon passed away on Wednesday, May 22, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville.  She was 90.

     Born March 5, 1934 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Ressie Ann Hinson and J. Thurman Gore.

     She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart Vernon B. Gurganus and a half sister, Mary Gore Rabon.

     She is survived by her daughter, Teresa G. Triplett of Clarendon; a son, Kent Gurganus of Clarendon; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 27, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, in Bethel Methodist Church, burial following in the Bethel Memorial Cemetery.

     Since Betty Jo loved flowers, if convenient please wear something floral/flowery to the funeral and/or visitation.
