Wesley Dean Tyler: Conway

1941 – 2024

     Wesley Dean Tyler of Conway passed away on July 6, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.

     Born June 14, 1941, in Loris, he was the son of the late Arthur Will Tyler and the late Gwinnie Mae Gerald Tyler.

     Mr. Tyler owned and operated a Checkered Cab Company while living in Charlotte. After moving back home, he worked with the Horry County Public Works until his retirement, and was a member of Cane Branch Baptist Church.

     Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Doris Ann Tyler; a daughter, Cynthia Joyce (Wally); grandchildren Grace Joyce, Ryan Joyce (Kristian), Tyler Joyce (Bianca), and Samantha Tyler; great-grandchildren Weston Joyce, Nixon Joyce, and Maylon Joyce; a brother, Dale Tyler (Ruby Dean); and sisters Maxine Glenn, Vivian Jordan, and Gwen Stevens (Michael)

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Tyler was predeceased by his son, Marcus Dean Tyler; and a brother, Douglas Tyler.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Johnson officiating, with private committal services to follow.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at Hardwick Funeral Home.
