Glennie Bell Cartrette Hardee: Loris
1938 – 2024
Glennie Bell Cartrette Hardee of Loris passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She was 86.
Born Jan. 29, 1938, in Green Sea, she was the daughter of the late Frank Calvin Cartrette and the late Ida Glendora Harrelson.
Mrs. Hardee was a homemaker and a longtime member of Dogwood Hill Baptist Church. She spent a lot of time being a super caregiver for her disabled veteran husband, Mr. Carl Bellamy Hardee, and for her seven children. Mrs. Hardee was an excellent seamstress, loved fishing with her family, and was affectionately known as the “Tweetest Mama in the World.”
Survivors include her six sons, Mitchell Hardee of Eloree, Audie John Hardee and wife Sharon of Conway, Randy C. Hardee (Kimberly), Tony C. Hardee, Kem R. Hardee, and Ron Hardee and wife Patricia all of Loris; grandchildren Christopher Lee Hardee, John Kevin Hardee, Brian A. Hardee, Patrick Hardee, Bradley Hardee, and Michael Hardee; step-grandchild Katina Corrigan (Shawn); a sister, Gerlene Strickland; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardee was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Carl Bellamy Hardee; a daughter, Patti Sue Hardee; one daughter-in-law, Mickey Hardee; two grandchildren, Corey R. Hardee and Major Joseph McCormick; a great-grandchild, Riley C. Hardee; and a step-grandchild, Mark Browning.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Dogwood Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Floyd officiating, committal services following at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
