Joyce Elaine Nix: Charlotte

1942 – 2024

     Joyce Elaine Nix of Charlotte died Saturday, Dec. 14. She was 82.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Kirby Franklin Watts and Allie Mae Redwine Watts.

     She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Nix of the home; one daughter, Cindy Good of Huntersville; one step son, Ken Nix of Charlotte; a brother, Robert Watts of Nakina; five sisters, Retha Presley of Indian Trail, Erma Billings of Charlotte, Sylvia Warren of Nakina, Pam Ward of Whiteville, and Carol Ray of Lake Waccamaw; and two grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Kirby Watts; and one sister, Norma Watts.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Nakina Baptist Church, burial following in the Watts Cemetery, Nakina.

     Visitation was planned for the two hours preceding services in the church.
