Hilda Carol Hewett Suggs: Tabor City

1953 – 2024

     Hilda Carol Hewett Suggs of Tabor City passed away on Thursday, Jan. 16. She was 71.

     Born in England, Hilda was a daughter of the late Ernest and Hilda Rodriguez Hewett. She was the wife of the late Danny Jay Suggs.

     Surviving are her children, Matthew Suggs, Joshua Suggs, and Samantha Suggs; grandson Gabriel Suggs; and her sister, Ann Strickland. She was preceded in death by her brother David Hewett.

     A dedicated and profound educator, Hilda inspired and enriched the lives of all she taught. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Everyone who knew Hilda admired her with great respect and she will be greatly missed.

     Family planned to receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Sandy Plain Baptist Church, 6824 Swamp Fox Hwy East, Tabor City. A memorial service was planned for 12:15 p.m. at the church.
