William Harold Young, Sr.: Loris

1940 – 2025

     William “Bill” Harold Young, Sr., of Loris age 80, passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, at McLeod Loris hospital. He was 80.

     Born May 12, 1940, in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John Preston Young, Sr. and the late Anne Theresa Prohovich Young.

    Mr. Young was the retired owner of a printing company in Massachusetts. During his life he was passionately involved with the Mason’s and held dual memberships in Trinity Masonic Lodge in MA, and Loris Lodge # 205 AFM. Mr. Young was also a member of the York Rite College and Eastern Star as well as a past Royal Arch Past High Priest, past Master of Trinity Lodge in MA, and past Worthy Patron of the Temple Chapter of the Eastern Star in Massachusetts.

     Survivors include his son, William “Bill” Harold Young, Jr.; daughter Judith Ann Higginbotham; three grandchildren, Dustin Jay Young, Shannon L. Young, and Michelle M. Gagney; four step-sons, Micheal Leonard, Joseph Leonard, Cory Leonard, and John Martinez, and two step-daughters, Tina Leonard and Pamela Frye.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was predeceased by his brother, John Preston Young, Jr.

     Memorial services will be held at a later date.

     Family requests that memorials be made to Loris Lodge #205 AFM, 669 Wright Road, Tabor City, NC 28463.
