William “Mitchell” Michael Ward: Loris

1953 – 2025

     William “Mitchell” Michael Ward passed away on Thursday, Feb. 13, at his home in Loris following a sudden illness. He was 71.

     Mitchell was born Aug. 10, 1953, in Loris, a son of the late William Gordon Ward and the late Susan Jennie Todd Ward.

     Mitchell worked as a construction superintendent and loved fishing and riding horses.

     Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Priscilla Watts Ward of the home; his two daughters, Michelle Ward and Jennifer Ward and husband, Richard; his grandson, Keller Ward; his two brothers, Charlie Ward and wife, Mary Lou and Dennis Ward; his sister, Mary Ward Faircloth and husband, Hoyt; sisters-in-law Jane Ward and Linda Ward; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Ward predeceased by his brothers, Floyd Ward, W.D. Ward, June Powell and Mickey Ward; and his sister, Jeannette Livingston.

     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Chris Fowler officiating. Committal services followed at Holly Hill Cemetery in Loris.
