Furman Davis Gause, Jr.: Loris

1951 – 2025

     Furman Davis Gause, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at McLeod Loris hospital. He was 74.

     Born Jan. 26, 1951, in Fort Stewart, Georgia, he was the son of the late Furman Davis Gause, Sr. and the late Margaret Morgan Gause Mosca.

     Mr. Gause served his country with courage, dignity, and honor as a Sergeant in the United States Army where he was an artillery specialist. After his military service he worked as a parts manager for Loris Ford and CarQuest, was a guard at Tabor City Correctional Institution, and a supervisor for the Horry County Solid Waste Authority.

     Survivors include his loving daughter, Davie L. Woodward (Vince); two grandchildren, Keegan Bailey Woodward and Kaleigh Brooke Woodward; sisters Dianne Gause Heffelfinger (Jack), Stephanie Gause Carson (Bob), and Nadine Gause McCafferty (Tom); half-sisters Kimberly Gause-Medley (John) and Dawn Holt (Paul); and stepsisters Sybil Lovell (Ernie) and Elaine Mattsson (Niclas),

     Memorial services with military honors were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donnie Graham officiating.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services at the funeral home.
