Shelba Jean Long James: Loris
1940 – 2025
Shelba Jean Long James of Loris passed away on Sunday, March 2, at McLeod Seacoast hospital. She was 84.
Born Aug. 27, 1940, in Tabor City, she was the daughter of the late A. C. Long and the late Lula Mae Bell Long Graham.
Survivors include her loving children, Randall James, Sandra Ballou, and Gay Barwick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vicky Lubelsky (Norman).
In addition to her parents, Mrs. James was predeceased by her husband, Herman Paul James; step-father D. Joe Graham; two brothers, Tommy Long, and King James Graham; and two sisters, Virginia Jordan, and Katie Fowler.
Funeral services were held at noon Thursday, March 6, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Hord officiating. Committal services were private.
Family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 4301 Red Bluff Road, Loris, SC 29569.
