Mary Elizabeth Parker: Tabor City

1940 – 2025

     Mary Elizabeth Parker of Tabor City died Friday, March 14, in Woodbury Wellness Center, Hampstead. She was 84.

     Born Sept. 27, 1940 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late William Golespie Norris and Hettie Strickland Norris. She was the widow of Vance Parker.

     She is survived by three sisters, Martha Norris Davis of Winston Salem, Ruby Norris Smith of Fairmont, and Ruthene Norris Barefoot of Castle Hayne; and one brother, Rudolph Norris of Columbia.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William Isaac Norris, Elbert Royce Norris, and Joseph Ruben Norris; and two sisters, Lorene Norris and Bonnie Norris Lanier.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 pm.. Tuesday, March 18, in the Inman Ward Funeral Chapel with burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
