Bonita Kathleen Martin Kaufmann: Loris

1943 – 2025

     Bonita Kathleen Martin Kaufmann passed away peacefully at her Loris home with her family present on April 8. She was 81.

     Bonita was the daughter of the late Ivan C. and Bertha Myers Martin of Goshen, Indiana.

     Bonita was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife who was profoundly dedicated to her family. She retired from Middlebury Community Schools after 27 years and then 20 years as the chief financial officer and owner of The Sod Farm, Inc.

     She was an active member, elder, and head of many activities with Bonneyville Mennonite Church of Bristol, Indiana. She was the author of several church cookbooks, and she was the coordinator of the church preschool program.

     She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, William Kaufmann; sisters Joann (Jim Jantzi), Sherrill (Larry Vardaman), Brenda (Loren Loucks); sons Craig (Stephanie Kaufmann), Scott (Jennifer Kaufmann); grandchildren Cody, Hannah, Haley, Carly, Abby, and Hannah.

     She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Dana Martin (Jean Martin); and a son, Brad (Teri Kaufmann).

     Bonita was a graduate of Bethany Christian School in Goshen, Indiana. She requests any contributions to be made in her name to Bethany Christian School of Goshen, Indiana.
