William Ballard Fowler: Tabor City
1931 – 2025
William “Bill” Ballard Fowler of Tabor City passed away Thursday, May 1. He was 93.
Born Dec. 11, 1931 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Ballard Pickney Fowler and Norma Leona Cox Fowler.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for 27 years before retiring. His foreign service deployments from 1952 to 1977 included two tours in Germany, Korea, two tours in Taiwan, and Vietnam. He was a member of Iron Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Faye Soles Fowler; two children, Ricky Fowler and Vicky (William) Hammond, both of Horry County; two stepchildren, Drake Fowler (Regina) of Longs and Blair Fowler of Myrtle Beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene (Ledenia) Fowler; and two sisters, Jean Fowler and Frances (Lehman) Johnson.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, entombment following in the Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
