Ancil Stacy Hilburn: Loris
1929 – 2025
Ancil Stacy Hilburn of Loris passed away on Wednesday, May, 28, at McLeod Seacoast hospital in Little River. He was 95.
Ancil was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Fayetteville, a son of the late James Walter Hilburn and the late Mertie Lou Harrelson Hilburn.
Mr. Hilburn served his country with courage, dignity, and honor in the United States Army. Ancil worked as a machinist for Stone Container until his retirement but above all else, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include his son, Duwane Hilburn; daughters Kathy Nichols (Charles), and Wanda Jean Hilburn; seven grandchildren, Tracie Hilburn, Danny Patterson, Corrina Mae Corno, Reese Simmons, Misty Simmons, Bradley Hilburn, and Chaz Elliott; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Mary Frances Strickland.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hilburn was predeceased by his wife, Daphine Lee Hilburn; brothers Lester Hilburn, Paul Hilburn, Lloyd Hilburn, and Dewey Hilburn; and sisters Inez Atwell, Annie Ruth Gerald, Mila Causey, and Essie Mae Booth.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Hardwick Funeral Home, committal services following at Princeville Cemetery located at 1555 SC-9 Business, Loris.
Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at the funeral home.
