Virginia Dare Prince: Whiteville

1937 – 2025

     Virginia Dare Prince of Whiteville passed away Tuesday, June 10, in her home. She was 87.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Monroe Stanley, Sr. and Darcus Ann Ward Stanley.

     She is survived by her husband, James Bobby Prince of the home; two sons, Mark Prince (Pam) of Whiteville and Allen Prince of Newman, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Dallas Prince and Kailey Hull (Will).

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Terry Prince; five brothers, Woody Stanley, Worth Stanley, FM Stanley, Elbert Stanley and Brooks Stanley; and two sisters, Carrie Wolford and Evie Gore.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, June 12, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
