Joan Marie Newcomer Ney: Loris

1939 – 2025

     Joan Marie Newcomer Ney of Loris passed away on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Loris Rehab and Nursing Center. She was 86.

     Born July 3, 1939, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ivan C. Newcomer, Sr. and the late Hazel Kender Newcomer.

     Survivors include her loving daughter, Sandra K. Resko; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons; four step-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ney was predeceased by her husband, Karl Richard Ney; a brother, Ivan C. Newcomer, Jr.; and sisters Betty Ann Pieschek and Nancy LaBarron.

     Committal services for Mr. Karl Ney and Mrs. Joan Ney were planned for June 13, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania.
