Robert “Wayne” English: Loris

1964 – 2025

     Robert “Wayne” English of Loris passed away on Oct. 10. He was 61.

     Born Feb. 22, 1964 in Starke, Florida, he was the son of the late Muril Marie English and Luther Eugene English.

     Mr. English served his country with honor, courage, and distinction in the National Guard.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy English; his father, Luther Eugene English; siblings Patty Hollifield, David English, Ronnie English, and Barbara Monnett; stepson Adam Stevens; stepbrother, Terry Ward; stepsisters, Belinda Rogers and Tabitha Courtney; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

     In addition to his mother, Wayne was preceded in death by his stepmother, Edna English; stepson Cary Stevens; a sister, Vanessa Driggers; a grandmother; grandfather, and granddaughter.

     Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Hardwick Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. David Watts and Rev. Ross Altman officiating, committal services following at Stevens Cemetery.
