Corley “Tommy” Causey, Jr.: Loris
1938 – 2025
Corley “Tommy” Causey, Jr., a devoted husband, father, and “Papa” to many passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 23, at his home in the Finklea community near Loris. He was 87.
Tommy was born April 4, 1938, in Loris, a son of the late Corbie Causey and the late Creannie Manthie Grainger Causey.
Mr. Causey served his country with courage, honor, and integrity in the United States Marines Corps. Mr. Causey’s strength, discipline, and commitment to others were hallmarks of his character both in and out of uniform.
After his military service, Tommy continued to make an impact within his community as both a farmer and a faithful member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and share his faith with others. His compassion, humor, and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tommy will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and proud “Papa” whose love for his family was unmatched. His legacy of faith, strength, and selflessness will continue to live on through all those he loved.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Tommy is now at peace and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord he so faithfully served.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Barbara Ann Causey; children Corbie Causey, Cathy Page (Jeff) and Gail Causey; stepchildren Freddie Grainger and Deborah Johnson; daughter-in-law Donna Causey; sisters Mary Rheuark (Paul) and Linda Rheuark; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Causey was predeceased by his son, Timmy Causey; a stepdaughter, Linda Reeves; two brothers, J.C. Causey and Gene Causey; two sisters, Hazel Stroud and Pearlene Hucks; a grandson, Brandon Page; and great-granddaughter Jasmine Soles.
Memorial services, with military honors, were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Lake Swamp Baptist Church with Pastor Dwayne Nobles and Rev. Michael Mathew officiating.
Family planned to receive friends from noon until the time of the service at the church.
