Janet Marie Johnson Merkler: Sunset Beach

1935 – 2025

     Janet Marie Johnson Merkler of Sunset Beach passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Loris Rehab and Nursing Center. She was 90.

     Born Aug. 6, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Johnson and the late Hildur Thoren Johnson.

     Survivors include her loving children, Raymond Louis Merkler, Sr. and Jeryl Kulpa; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Merkler was predeceased by her husband, Louis Raymond Merkler; and a brother, Richard Johnson.

     Memorial services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Florence National Cemetery.

     Family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
