Billy Lewis Gore: Nakina

1936 – 2025

     Billy Lewis Gore of Nakina passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCareCenter in Whiteville. He was 89.

     Born April 13, 1936 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Curtis I. Gore and Hattie Faulk Gore.

     He is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Gore of Nakina and Christopher Lewis Gore of Lake Waccamaw; a daughter, Sheila Smith of Laurinburg; and six grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo White Gore; a brother, Carl Graham Gore; one sister, Margaret June Smith; and other extended family.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in Bethesda Fellowship Church, burial following in the church cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
