William Wayne Cribb: Whiteville

1944 – 2025

     William Wayne “Billy” Cribb of Whiteville passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was 81.

     Born Dec. 8, 1944, in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Beulah Gertrude Norris Cribb and Rossie Odell Cribb.

     He is survived by one son, Joey Dewayne Cribb and wife Morgan of Whiteville; a daughter, Aneshia Cribb Ward and husband Gregory of Lake Waccamaw; seven grandchildren, Henry Ward, Dawson Cribb (Ashlan), Laityn Cribb, Mason Cribb, Brantley Nealey, Chreston Cribb, and Maudlyn Cribb; and one sister, Ann Cartrette and her husband Paul of Whiteville.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Cartrette Cribb; and a brother, Bobby Cribb.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in McPherson Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the chapel.
