Wilma Louise Hardee Fowler: Fort Mill
1930 – 2026
Wilma Louise Hardee Fowler of Fort Mill passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, at Atrium Steele Creek Hospital, in Charlotte. She was 95.
Born April 11, 1930, in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Cornelius Hardee and the late Sarah Elizabeth Soles Hardee.
Mrs. Fowler worked as a teachers’ assistant for Horry County Schools until her retirement. Mrs. Fowler was a dedicated member of Loris First Baptist Church, longtime member of the Loris First Baptist Church Condolence Committee, and a children’s Sunday school teacher. In her personal life, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her rose bushes, the mountains, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Fowler (Andrea) and Bryan Fowler (Keith); grandchildren, Jason Fowler (Lynette), Griffin Fowler (Lindsey), Sarah Fowler, Meredith Holmes (Jeremy), and Morgan Fowler; great-grandchildren Addie, Anderson, Callie, and Eli; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fowler was predeceased by her husband, George Oliver “Buddy” Fowler; a daughter, Barbara Kay Fowler; and seven siblings, Cleatis Vivian Coleman, Evelyn Pauline Mills, Willard Hardee, Daphene Pearl Todd, Vernon Hardee, Sarah Elizabeth Roberts, and William Hardee.
Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Mr. Ronald Fowler officiating.
