Kathy Diane Smith: Tabor City

1954 – 2026

     Kathy Diane Smith of Tabor City passed away Sunday, March 1, in her home surrounded by her family. She was 72.

     Born Feb. 28, 1954 in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Wallace Fowler and Isadell Floyd Fowler Cummings.

     She is survived by her husband, Rev. Kenneth Smith; three sons, Timmy (Krissy) Smith and their children Cooper and Taylor, Roy (Leighann) Smith and their children Bella, Walker, Annie and Meila, and Josh (Lee Ann) Smith and their child, Chloe; one sister, Janice (Junior) Smith; one brother, Bill (Midge) Fowler; a brother in-law, Jerry Suggs; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Dean Smith; a sister, Phyllis “Suzie” Suggs; and step father Wayne Cummings

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in Dulah Missionary Baptist Church, 12476 Swamp Fox Highway East, Tabor City, burial following in the church cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the 90-minutes preceding services in the church.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
