Laddie Bennett Vaught: Loris
1946 – 2026
Laddie Bennett “Bing” Vaught of Loris passed away on Friday, March 6, at McLeod Seacoast hospital. He was 79.
Born Oct. 5, 1946, in Conway, he was the son of the late Robert Laddie Vaught, and the late Lou Nell Bennett Vaught.
Mr. Vaught served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Mr. Vaught worked with the United States Postal Service, serving in various capacities, including Postmaster until his retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kay M. Vaught; a son, Casey Vaught; daughters Erika Vaught Williams and Jill Vaught Lane; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Vaught was predeceased by his brother, Robert Michael Vaught; a sister, Linda Vaught Mills; and a nephew.
Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Hardwick Funeral Home.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Loris First Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Phillips and Reverend David Watts officiating, committal services following at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
