Joel Levon Lee: Little River

Joel Levon Lee of Little River died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 5. He was 51.
Born on Oct. 16, 1961 in Rock Hill, he is the son of Hickman L. and Agnes McQueen Lee.
Joel proudly served in the National Guard Armory from 1979 to 1989. He was self employed with the family business, Williams Carpet, since 1982. He was an avid rider with the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, a volunteer firefighter and accomplished bowler with the Brunswick County Bowling League. A great dancer himself, his greater passion was supporting his daughters dance and pageant dreams where he famously earned the title of “Dance Dad”. You never saw Joel without a video camera as his proudest moments were spent with his girls.
Joel was a faithful husband, a loving father, son, and brother, a devoted grandfather and a genuine friend. Other than his parents of Longs, Joel is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra Williams Lee; two daughters, Andrea Lee and Kayla Lee Holmes; granddaughter, Annslee Margaret Holmes; brother, Richard E. Lee (Dee); father-in-law, Trevis J. Williams; sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Williams; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Michael Williams and Kevin Trevis Williams; seven nieces and nephews and an infinite number of friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Lee Funeral Home in North Myrtle Beach.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Today’s Harvest Church, 1100 33rd Avenue South, North Myrtle Beach, SC. Burial was to follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
