Pamela Ann Hayes Sarvis: Green Sea

1951 – 2024

     Pamela “Pam” Ann Hayes Sarvis of Green Sea passed away on Saturday, March 9. She was 72.

     Mrs. Sarvis was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Marion, a daughter of the late Shelton Hayes and the late Dovie Graham Hayes. She received her Master’s in Education Degree from Clemson University and worked as both a teacher and then a guidance counselor at Green Sea Middle School and High School until her retirement.

     Mrs. Sarvis was a dedicated member of Green Sea Baptist Church and attended Greens Creek Baptist Church in Sylva. She taught Sunday School at both churches, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who were blessed to have known her.

     Survivors include her husband, Larry L. Sarvis; a daughter, Dee Dee Utley and husband Benny; two sons, Buck Brian Sarvis and wife, Christy and Shannon Brock Sarvis; a brother, Sherwood Hayes and wife Linda; a sister, Martha Jo Garrell; and four loving grandchildren, Douglas Cole Strickland, Savannah Dovie Sarvis, Logan Blake Sarvis, and Paisley Ann Sarvis.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sarvis was predeceased by her brother, John Thomas Hayes; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Hayes; and brother-in-law Jimmy Garrell.

     Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Brust officiating, committal services following at Green Sea Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
