Howard Alden Simonson, III: Loris
1954 – 2024
Howard Alden Simonson, III of Loris passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, at McLeod Loris hospital. He was 70.
Born Jan. 27, 1954, in Oneida, New York, he was the son of Edna May Wheeler and Howard Alden Simonson II.
Mr. Simonson was a sergeant E5 in the United States Army where he served his country with courage, honor, and distinction. While in the Army, Mr. Simonson was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and qualified as an Expert M16.
Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Mary Simonson; a daughter, Nicole Armstrong (Chris); one son, Keith A Simonson; step-children Kellianne McCoy Milliner (David), Megan McCoy Walsh (Sean), Joshua McCoy and Ryan McCoy (Bernice); grandchildren, Michael McCoy, Casey McCoy, Kaitlyn McCoy, Allison Milliner, Madelyn Milliner, John Walsh (Jack), Isabella McCoy, Carlos McCoy, Abigayl Armstrong, Kathen Simonson, and Paisley Simonson; sisters Frances Camp and Diana Hoag; and a brother, Todd Wheeler.
Mr. Simonson was preceded in death by his father, Howard Alden Simonson, II and stepfather, Gordon Wheeler.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dr. Tim Osment officiating.
