Shelly Ann Pinto Causey: Loris

1952 – 2025

     Shelly Ann Pinto Causey of Loris passed away on Saturday, Feb. 1, at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston. She was 72.

     Born July 26, 1952, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pam Dearing and was raised by the late Anthony Joseph Pinto, Jr. and the late Maudelin Mitchum Pinto. Mrs. Causey attended Princeville Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her loving husband, Franklin Earl Causey, Jr.; sons Dennis Blanton and Joey Blanton; stepsons Joseph Jeffrey Harver and Scott Causey; stepdaughters Christy Allsbrook and Darlene Umbehant; six loving grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Edward Dearing and Clifford Michael Dearing; a sister, Tammy Drew; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Causey was predeceased by her brothers, Buster Pinto and Donnie Dearing; and a sister, Linda Sterling.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Hughes officiating. Committal services were private.
