Nancy Ann Fairfax: Nakina

1962 – 2025

     It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Fairfax on April 12 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. She was 63.

     Nancy was born Jan. 10, 1962, and was the daughter of Hazel Cox Williams of Nakina, and the late Timothy Wade Fairfax Sr.

     She is survived by her loving family including her mother Hazel, brother Timothy Wade Fairfax II, sister Rebecca Ellen Williams, and brother James Michael Willams all of Nakina. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many cousins.

     Nancy was an active member of the Pine Level Baptist Church in Nakina where she enjoyed attending services, being with friends, neighbors, and participating in the Christmas pageant and other special events. In her youth she participated in local Special Olympics events which brought her, as well as the family, a lot of pride and joy.

     Nancy was a very “special person” and was endeared by everyone who knew her.

     Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Pine Level Original Free Will Baptist Church, 2308 Pine Level Church Road, Nakina, with Rev. Wayne Skipper officiating. Visitation will be during the hour preceding services at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Pine Level Original Free Will Baptist Church, 2308 Pine Level Church Road, Nakina, NC 28455 or the charity of your choice.
