James Lee Murray, III: Loris

1939 – 2025

     SMSgt. James Lee Murray, III passed away on Saturday, May, 17, at his home in Loris. He was 86.

     Born Feb. 21, 1939, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late James Lee Murray, Jr. and the late Dorothy May Harrington Rice.

     Mr. Murray served his country with dignity, honor, and courage in the United Stated Navy for 4 years and the United States Air Force for 20 years.

     Survivors include his loving wife, Candace Murray; a son, James Lee Murray, IIII.; daughters Dawn Marie Murray and Kari Dillon; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Murray was predeceased by his son, Dean Robert Murray and one brother.

     Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
