Earl Scott Burnette: Loris

1976 – 2025

     Earl Scott Burnette of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was 49.

     Born Jan. 14, 1976, in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was a son of Earl Samuel Burnette and Doris Virginia Wilkerson Burnette.

     Mr. Burnette had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fly fishing, camping, traveling to new places, and spending time at the beach.

     Survivors, including his parents, are his loving wife of seven years, Bridgette Burnette; a son, Samuel Burnette (Rebecca); step-sons Dakota Hammontree and Chase Hammontree; a granddaughter, Haisley Grace Burnette; mother-in-law Sue DeLung; a brother, Mark Burnette (Debbie); sisters Alice Fisher (Ernie) and Sharon Poole (Ernie); and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at the funeral home.
