Emma Carolina Clark Hewitt: Pineville

1947 – 2025

     Emma Carolina Clark Hewitt of Pineville passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at her home. She was 78.

     Born March 4, 1947, in Wagram, she was the daughter of the late James Willie Clark and the late Emma Elizabeth Blount Clark.

     Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Herman Newman Hewitt, Sr.; brothers Joe Clark and Dan Clark; sons Herman Hewitt, Jr., Arnold Willie Hewitt, and James Hewitt; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hewitt was predeceased by brothers Henry Floyd Clark, James Willie Clark, and Henry Dean Clark; sisters Harriet Bell and Lucy Ridgeway; and two grandchildren.

     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Amos Gordine and Rev. Mike Kinlaw officiating. Committal services followed at Carter Cemetery.
