Donald Clayton Ward: Clarendon

1968 – 2026

     Donald Clayton Ward of Clarendon passed away on Monday, Feb. 9, in his home.  He was 57.

     Born Aug. 9, 1968 in Edenton, he was the son of the late Berlyn Ward and Margaret Alexander Ward.

     He was a member of Clarendon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

     He is survived by his wife, Wendy Belch Ward of the home; two children, Clay Ward and wife Kaitlynn of Tabor City and Joseph Ward of Clarendon; two sisters, Joan Speer of Gadsden, Alabama and Betty Phillips of Edenton; three grandchildren, Mallory Ward, Eli Ward and Lilly Ward; in-laws Lloyd and Kay Belch of Edenton; and many loving nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ward; and a sister, Marie Tynch.

     Family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses at Gentiva Hospice.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Clarendon Baptist Church, burial following at Myrtle Green Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
