Guy Russell Canady Sr.: Nakina

1946 – 2026

     Guy Russell Canady Sr. of Nakina died Friday, April 17, in his daughter’s home in Gray, Georgia. He was 79.

     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of late Grover Russell Canady and Elmarie Prince Canady.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Pierce Canady.

    He was a veteran of the U.S Army.

     He is survived by one son, Guy Russell Canady Jr. (Christy) of Nakina; a daughter, Clarissa Handlos (Steve) of Gray, Georgia; one sister, Gail Norris (Vern) of Columbia, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Katelyn Grace Connor (Steven), Lauren Graye Canady, Summer Handlos, Sierra Handlos, Dylan Handlos; and one great grandchild, Rylee Graye Connor.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
