Roger Wesley Hardee: Loris

1940 – 2026

     Roger Wesley Hardee of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at McLeod Loris hospital. He was 85.

     Born Nov. 23, 1940, in Loris, he was the son of the late George Franklin Hardee and the late Annie Lillian Carter Hardee.

     Mr. Hardee served his country with courage, honor, and dignity in the United States Army as a nuclear weapons specialist until his retirement.

     Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Ann Hardee; sons Charles Allen Hardee, Daniel J Hardee, and Anthony “Tony” Louis Hardee; sisters Althea King, and Diane Smith; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardee was predeceased by his brothers, George Hardee, Cecil Hardee, Lloyd Hardee, and Edward Hardee; and a sister, Betty Rausch.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joey Price officiating.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at Hardwick Funeral Home.

     Family planned to reconvene for committal services with military honors at 2 p.m. at Florence National Cemetery for anyone that would like to attend.
