Minnie Walker Britt Dew: Loris
1926 – 2024
Minnie Walker departed this life peacefully on Friday, May 3, in her home in Loris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sanford and Rosella (Tucker) Britt; her four brothers, Santee Britt, Jim Britt, Stafford and Ralph Britt; two sisters, Elizabeth Jackson and Shirley Goldhorn; her husband, William Jennings Dew; a son, Billy; and her daughter, Gloria Olin.
Minnie was born in Dillon and moved to Charlotte with her husband Jennings to raise her family. She was employed for a time with Delmar Studios of Charlotte and she and her family were members of Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Minnie and Jennings with their son Billy, moved to Tabor City in 1978, and then shortly afterwards to Loris. She and Jennings were members of the First Methodist Church of Loris and attended faithfully for many years.
She and her daughter Kathy owned and operated Sunshine Childcare in Loris for seven years beginning in 1982.
Minnie Walker is survived by her son-in-law, Chris Olin; a daughter, Judy Burdette (Mark) of Indian Trail; her youngest daughter Kathy Pabst (Stewart) of Loris; grandchildren Chip (Kim) Olin and Garrett (Morgan) Olin of Charlotte, Dr. Mamie (Jon) Stull of Clemmons, Jen (Chris) Strickland of Morganton, Rudy Pabst (Hannah) and Caleb (Jennifer) Pabst of Loris; 11 great-grandchildren, Carson, Chole and Cameron Olin, Jay, Taylor and Mason Olin, Gideon Strickland, Jameson Stull, Rylee and Hazel Pabst and Eli Pabst; her brother-in-law, Terry Goldhorn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family is so grateful for the support, care and compassion of the McLeod Hospice and the prayers and spiritual support of her church family during this time of transition to her heavenly home and life eternal.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Loris Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Adams officiating. Committal services followed at Little Zion Methodist Church in Marion County.
