Audrey Todd Hughes: Loris

1935 – 2024

     Audrey Todd Hughes of Loris passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, at McLeod Seacoast hospital. She was 89.

     Born June 13, 1935 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Richardson Todd and the late Virginia Alberta Rowell Todd.

     Mrs. Hughes worked with the city of Conway until her retirement. She was the oldest member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, and a proud member of the Horry County Senior Center at Mt. Vernon.

     Survivors include her loving granddaughter, Casey Jordan Willard (Will); great-granddaughter, Tilley Willard; one great-grandson on the way, Sutton Ben Willard; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hughes was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 54 years, Benjamin “Tilly” Tillman Hughes; a son, Eric Ben Hughes; granddaughter Jessica Kelly Hughes; and a sister, Mary Lynn Todd.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hord and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating. Private committal services were planned.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services, at the church, and following in the church fellowship hall.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 4301 Red Bluff Road, Loris, SC 29569.
