James Wesley Strickland, III: Loris
1980 – 2025
James Wesley “Wes” Strickland, III passed away on Saturday, June 28, at his home in Loris. He was 44.
Born Dec. 8, 1980, in Conway, he was the son of James Wesley Strickland, Jr. and Diane Branham.
Wes served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he worked as a branch manager with World Finance Corporation.
Wes was a member and Past Master of Anchor and Ark Military Lodge 64, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Oklahoma, Herman E. Duncan Consistory 359, Ararat Temple 197, and AEAONMS PHA. In his personal life, he loved the Carolina Tar Heels and was an avid freshwater fisherman. Above all else, Wes was a beloved family man, devoted husband, father, and son.
Survivors, including his parents, are his loving wife of 17 years, Kendra Strickland; children Brice, Cameron, James Wesley Strickland, IV, and Kendall; sister, Christy Norris; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Wes was predeceased by his sister, Shelly Tyler.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeffrey Graham officiating. Committal services were private.
