Wannie Rachel Prince Hyatt Wilson: Longs

1940 – 2025

     Wannie Rachel Prince Hyatt Wilson of Longs passed away on Sunday, July 13, surrounded by her family. She was 84.

     Ms. Wilson was born July 21, 1940, in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Benjamin Gordon and Annie Belle Prince.

     Ms. Wilson married the late Gerald Hyatt to which she had three children: Sherryl Hyatt Cox, Lora Hyatt Tyler, and Leo Gerald Hyatt. She then married the late Clyde Wilson, who passed away in 2018. She has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

     Left to cherish Ms. Wilson’s memory are her daughters, Sherryl Cox of Latta and Lora Tyler of Loris; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Wilson; ex-husband Gerald Hyatt; a son, Leo Hyatt; brothers Philip Prince and Paul Prince; and sisters Pearl Lanier and Iris Prince.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Phillip Rouse officiating. Committal services were private.

     Family requests that memorials may be made to Believer’s Bible Chapel at 12151 N Hwy 905 Longs, SC 29568.
