Jean Carol Gore Small: Loris

1941 – 2025

     Jean Carol Gore Small of Loris passed away on July 25 at The Bluefield in Leland. She was 84.

     Born May 5, 1941, in Whiteville, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Battle Gore and the late Macie Bell Thompson Gore.

     Survivors include her son, Chrystle “Chris” Wayne Small of Jasper, Tennessee; a daughter, Felisa Small Norris of Leland; a sister, Brenda Marie Godwin; six grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Small was predeceased by her husband, Billy Wayne Small; a brother, Paul Devon Gore; and one sister, Anita Pearl Gore.

     Memorial services were planned for noon Saturday, Aug. 2, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Floyd and Reverend Cameron Lewis officiating, Private committal services were planned.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at the funeral home.
