Armatha Hemingway: Loris

1934 – 2025

     Armatha Hemingway of Loris passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10. She was 91.

     Armatha was born in Loris, a daughter of the late Leon David Hemingway and the late Beulah Hardee Hemingway.

     In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Alice Hemingway; four brothers, Elbert Hemingway, Joe David Hemingway, Ander Hemingway, and Lee Davis Hemingway; and two sisters, Angeline Hemingway and Carrrie Lee Hemingway.

     Survivors include three sisters, Aretha Briggs, Lilly Ella Hemingway, and Garnell Hemingway all of Loris; one brother, Garthell Hemingway of Loris; and other extended family and friends.

     Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday,Aug.14, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Andy Anderson officiating, burial following in the Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
