Buena Vista Floyd Clark: Sumter
1947 – 2025
Buena Vista Floyd Clark of Sumter beloved wife of 56 years to Charles Stephen Clark, died on Friday, Oct. 3, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. She was 77.
Mrs. Clark was born Dec. 4, 1947, to Benjamin Kemp Floyd, Sr. and Roena Graham Floyd in Mullins. She earned her BA degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling. She taught in the DOD schools in Turkey, Ohio and Florida. Moving to Sumter, she taught at Laurence Manning Academy and was a guidance counselor.
She leaves behind her husband; a daughter, Stefanie Lynn Clark Durham and her husband David of Sumter; a son, Ryan Floyd Clark and his wife Heather of Florida; two granddaughters, Sarah Emily Durham and Addison Grace Clark; a brother, Benjamin Kemp Floyd, Jr.; a nephew, Benjamin Kemp Floyd, III; and a niece, Mary Ragin Holt Floyd Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Bradley Ryan Clark.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. G. Marion Zeigler, Rev. Rodney Howard, and Rev. Clay Weeks officiating. Burial was private.
