Matthew Edwin Strickland: Loris

1980 – 2025

     Matthew Edwin Strickland of Loris passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, at McLeod Hospital in Florence, with his mom by his side. He was 45.

     Born Nov. 21, 1980, at the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston, he was the son of the late Rev. Edwin L. Strickland and Barbara H. Strickland.

     Matthew loved the outdoors, including horticulture, and he was a master electrician by trade. He deeply loved his mother, his fiancée, and his dog, Nafta.

     Survivors include his mother, Barbara Strickland; his fiancée, Andrea Panther; his buddy, Rayne Matthews; as well as many friends and extended family.

     A memorial visitation was planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Hardwick Funeral Home.
