Lloyd Cox: Loris

1941 – 2025

     Lloyd Cox of Loris passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025, at his home. He was 84.

     Born Dec. 3, 1941, in Loris, he was the son of the late John Davis Cox and the late Helen Skipper Cox.

     Mr. Cox took great pride in being a master carpenter who worked as a subcontractor with Universal Designers for 37 years before his retirement. In his personal life, he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and was of the Baptist faith.

     Survivors include his sons, Danny Lloyd Cox and Michael Earl Cox; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was predeceased by his wife, Doris King Cox; brothers, Tom Cox, Boyd Cox, Jack Cox, and J.D. Cox, and sisters, Dalma Cox, Geneva Faircloth, Grace Singletary, Jean Bell, and Gladys Elaine Raspovich.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Price officiating. Committal services followed at Princeville Cemetery.
