Fleetie Belle Powell Fowler: Loris

1935 – 2026

     Fleetie Belle Powell Fowler of Loris passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, at McLeod Seacoast hospital. She was 90.

     Born Jan. 11, 1935, in Green Sea, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Monroe Powell and the late Elma Louise Roberts Powell.

     Survivors include her loving sons, Morris Fowler, Ray Fowler and Travis Fowler; a brother, Rev. Thelton Powell; sisters Sarah Baumler and Marguerite Williamson; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and other extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fowler was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Fowler; a brother, Devon Powell; and two brothers-in-law.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thelton Powell and Rev. Jonathan Barbee officiating, committal services following at Green Sea Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at the funeral home.

     Family requests that memorials be made to Bethesda Baptist Church (Mission Fund), 2004 S. Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703.
