Lawrence “Larry” Kapps: Mooresville

1945 – 2017

 

     Lawrence “Larry” Kapps of Mooresville passed away Monday, May 29 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was 72.

     Mr. Kapps, a loving son, brother, husband, dad and “grandpa”, was born March 7, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia to Dr. L. B. and Sallie Lathrop Kapps.

     He was employed by Bell South for more than 30 years and was a veteran of the United States Army.

     In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Brooks Kapps.

     He is survived by his wife; Beth Gray Ferguson Kapps of the home, three daughters, Kimberly Rios, Eleanor Russell, Master Sergeant Mary Elizabeth Ferguson; one son, Gray Ferguson, ten grandchildren, Adeline Rios, August Rios, Nathanael Rios, Thaddaeus Rios, Elizabeth Rios, Charlotte Rios, Dalton Russell, Deacon Russell, William Ferguson, Campbell Ferguson; his mother; Sallie L. Kapps, one sister, Sallie Dalton; two brothers, his twin, Kenny Kapps and Bobby Kapps.

      A memorial Celebration of Life was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel in Loris. Family planned to receive friends immediately following the service.
